1 Dead, 7 Injured as Building Collapses in Jigawa Following Heavy Rainfall

Kirikasamma Local Government Council provides financial aid to victims and urges caution amid ongoing rains.

 

One person has lost their life while seven others sustained injuries after a building collapsed in Kabak Village, Kirikasamma Local Government Area, Jigawa State.

 

The council’s Information Officer, Musa Muhammad, confirmed the incident in Dutse on Sunday, noting that heavy rains in the area contributed to the collapse.

“Seven people suffered serious injuries, and one person tragically died,” Muhammad stated. “The collapse occurred around midnight on Friday. Five of the injured were hospitalized, while two others were treated and discharged.”

 

Kirikasamma Local Government Chairman, Muhammad Maji, visited the scene to sympathize with the victims. He also provided N500,000 to cover medical expenses and N100,000 in emergency support to the bereaved family.

 

The council has called on residents to exercise caution during periods of heavy rainfall and to stay vigilant around potentially vulnerable structures.
