2027 Coalition: PDP United, Saboteurs Will Be Sanctioned – Damagum Warns
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, has reaffirmed that the party remains strong and united ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, 2 July 2025, following a meeting of the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC), Damagum declared that any party members working to undermine the PDP’s unity or image would face disciplinary action.
The meeting was convened to strengthen party cohesion after the reinstatement of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary.
“To those thinking of leaving the PDP, I want to make it clear: there’s no party as accommodating as ours,” Damagum said. “If they believe otherwise, I wish them well — but I know many will eventually return.”
He continued, “We are drawing the line. Members who go about demarketing the party will be held accountable. We are observing, and at the right time, we will act accordingly.”
