Delta Activist Austin Ozobo Hails PAP Scholarship Scheme, Urges Support for Dr. Dennis Otuaro’s Reforms
Niger Delta Amnesty Programme Administrator Dr. Dennis Otuaro praised for scholarships, human capital development initiatives benefiting 142 beneficiaries in the UK.
Niger Delta activist Austin Ozobo has applauded the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for launching a scholarship initiative and implementing reforms aimed at boosting human capital development in the region.
Ozobo highlighted that over 142 PAP beneficiaries have been awarded scholarships to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, describing the programme as a significant investment in the socioeconomic advancement of the Niger Delta.
In a statement made available to journalists in Warri on Tuesday, Ozobo said, “Dr. Otuaro has revitalised the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme for ex-agitators, which suffered under previous administrations.” He urged stakeholders to support the PAP Administrator in effectively implementing his reforms and programmes.
The activist further encouraged individuals with genuine concerns about the Programme to approach Otuaro through proper channels, noting, “He is always ready to address every legitimate issue regarding the Presidential Amnesty Programme.”
Describing the PAP Administrator as “detribalised, accommodating, friendly, and performing,” Ozobo called on beneficiaries, stakeholders, and Niger Delta youths to support him fully. He also advised Otuaro to disregard negative campaigns from detractors, emphasizing that well-meaning Niger Deltans stand firmly behind his initiatives.
Ozobo congratulated the scholarship recipients and urged them to make the most of the opportunity abroad, warning against actions that could lead to repatriation by foreign authorities.
Earlier, Dr. Otuaro explained that the scholarship placements were carefully selected to align with competitive and professional courses aimed at promoting socioeconomic growth, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The programme also provided laptops to all scholarship recipients to facilitate their research and academic work abroad.
The initiative is expected to strengthen human capital in the Niger Delta, ensuring long-term benefits for the region’s development and the empowerment of its youths.
