OGS Foundation Founder Brings Over 3,000 Supporters to APC, Calls for Youth Inclusion and Progressive Governance
Former student leader and humanitarian advocate, Ogunwoye Gbemiga Samson—popularly known as Ogunsamson or OGS—has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to mobilize significant support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. His declaration, held on Friday at IresaPupa in Oyo State, drew thousands of supporters and party officials, marking one of the largest political gatherings recently witnessed in the Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency.
Ogunwoye, the founder of the OGS Foundation renowned for its activism and community interventions, said his decision to join the APC followed careful consultations with stakeholders. He expressed confidence that the party offers the best platform for sustainable development and inclusive governance.
“This step is not one taken in haste. I am persuaded that the APC represents the ideals of progress and good governance,” Ogunwoye said. “Our commitment is to strengthen the party at the grassroots, mobilize across Oyo State and Nigeria, and extend our efforts globally.”
He urged the APC leadership at both state and national levels to create more opportunities for young people to actively engage in politics. According to him, the inclusion of youths in elective and appointive positions would not only rejuvenate the party but also ensure innovation and continuity in governance.
Ogunwoye also commended President Tinubu for his bold economic reforms, describing them as “tough but necessary” for repositioning Nigeria’s economy. “The President is on the right track, and with time, Nigerians will see the full benefits of his policies. We must continue to support him,” he added.
Reiterating his commitment, Ogunwoye pledged to mobilize massively for the APC and ensure his networks and structures deliver overwhelming support for the party. He emphasized that his movement would serve as a rallying point to consolidate the gains of the current administration and promote progressive governance.
Party leaders hailed Ogunwoye’s defection as a significant boost for the APC. Hon. Bode Akanni of Surulere Local Government described it as “a big victory,” highlighting OGS’s popularity and credibility as a means to further strengthen the party’s grassroots dominance. Another chieftain called the development “a political game-changer,” emphasizing that Ogunwoye’s reputation and appeal were exactly what the party needs ahead of future political challenges.
