EXPOSED: Nigerian, Mauritius Base Contractor, Fortunate Declared Wanted For Alleged Scam
A Nigerian, Mauritius based work contractor, simply identified and popularly known as FORTUNATE, has been declared wanted for scamming his workers.
According to information, FORTUNATE, who’s from Ondo State, Nigeria, based in Mauritius, is a work contractor who employs mostly Nigerians in hotels’ work, has been accused of scam after faliure to pay his workers salaries.
It was noted that FORTUNATE would intentionally target Nigerians in Mauritius, send them to hotels to work, and when it’s time for payment, he would refuse to pay his workers despite been paid by the hotels.
DAILY OBSERVER recall that on 21st March, 2025, a young lady accused him of withholding her Rs25,000 over failure to work with him again, but he immediately paid her after Daily Observer publication.
When FORTUNATE contacted Daily Observer, he stated and admitted he intentionally didn’t pay his worker because she refused to work with him again. He said: “Payment has been done someone who called herself my staff refuse to go to work for a couple of days without informing me and that is a punishment.”
“Didn’t go to work for seven days without telling me and I delay a payment eventually it has been made so what news are you posting? My staffs already called me yesterday to forgive her. He added.
In a new twist, it was gathered that the Nigerian born contractor in Mauritius owed some of his workers to the tone of Rs30,000, Rs48,000, and many more.
It was noted that anytime his workers asked him for payment, he would threaten them with immigration and police knowing that some of his workers her helpless. He has refused to pay many of his workers who are now in their different countries, including Ghana, Liberia, Cameroon, and Kenya.
However, following the recent threatening of his workers, FORTUNATE with contact address +234 916 781 6282 has been declared WANTED, and a bounty has been placed on him as the most criminal contractor from Nigeria in Mauritius Island.
Casual workers from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Liberia, Cameroon, and other nationals are urged to avoid and quit working with him.
