FCT Police Investigate Suspicious Death of Woman Found Bound in Gwarinpa Hotel Room

ABUJA – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an intensive investigation into the mysterious death of a woman, identified as Aladi Offikwu Johnson, popularly known as Tessy, who was discovered unconscious and bound in a hotel room in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja.

The incident occurred on Monday, June 16, at a hotel located on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa. According to reports, hotel staff made the grim discovery during routine checks and immediately alerted medical personnel, who confirmed Tessy had died.

The victim, a native of Benue State, was said to have checked into the hotel with an unidentified man, who allegedly left the premises alone before her body was found. The disturbing circumstances surrounding her death, including a widely circulated video online, have raised public concern and calls for justice.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, has ordered a discreet and comprehensive investigation to uncover the truth behind the incident.

“The Command is committed to ensuring justice for the deceased and her family. We appeal for calm and patience while the investigation progresses,” the statement read.

CP Adewale also issued a public advisory, encouraging young women to prioritize personal safety by informing trusted individuals of their whereabouts. He further urged hotel operators to enhance security protocols, including mandatory identification of all guests and improved surveillance systems.

The FCT Police Command extended heartfelt condolences to Tessy’s family and promised to provide regular updates as the investigation unfolds.
