Following Daily Observer publication about a Nigerian work contractor based in Mauritius, simply identified as Gboyega Ojo, popularly known as Fortunate, his cousin, Olaitan, continues to threaten the media outlet for exposing atrocities committed in Mauritius Island

Recall that Daily Observer had earlier made a publication of an Ondo State, Nigerian work contractor based in Mauritius, Fortunate usually found of sending Nigerians in Mauritius to work without payment.

On 21st March 2025, a young lady accused Gboyega Ojo, also known as Fortunate of withholding her Rs25,000 over failure to work with him again, but Fortunate immediately paid after Daily Observer reported the incident. On Thursday, April 24, 2025, another publication was made on how Fortunate refused to pay his workers, owing some to the tone of Rs48,000, Rs30,000, and so on.

Since these expository made it to the internet, Fortunate and his loyalists have been threatening Daily Observer for exposing such incidents.

In a new twist, one of Fortunate family members who represented herself as her elder sister, identified as OLAITAN, who lives in Shomolu, Lagos State, Nigeria, contacted one of the Daily Observer relatives and accused the publisher of being paid by other Mauritius work contractors to made the earlier publication about the work contractor, Fortunate.

OLAITAN stated that she got the relative contact number through social media, Instagram,which is false because the contacted person wasn’t active on the media platform. She further stated that the number was sent to her through an Igbo guy called Ifeanyi, who had once contacted Daily Observer to delete the publication.

More so, Olaitan pleaded to Daily Observer to delete the publication about the work contractor based in Mauritius in order not to lose contracting jobs in the Island country.

However,  Daily Observer insisted that the work contractor Fortunate should pay all his workers their outstanding payment and stop threatening them with immigration and police.
