ABUJA — Pastor Amos Isah, founder and lead minister of the Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry in Gwagwalada, Abuja, Nigeria, has been arrested and detained by the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) over allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl.
The arrest, which occurred last week, has sparked outrage in the local community, where Isah is known for his impassioned sermons and growing social media presence. His church, located behind Noble Noel Academy and opposite Gwagwalada Market, draws dozens of worshippers weekly.
Authorities confirmed that the teenage victim was allegedly sexually assaulted by Isah, prompting immediate police action. Sources within the FCID revealed that the pastor may have used his spiritual authority to manipulate the girl.
Despite multiple attempts, Isah has not responded to calls for comment.
A review of his Facebook page shows frequent posts on morality, divine guidance, and spiritual leadership. His last church service was held on Wednesday, June 18. He was absent the following day, sparking speculation among congregants.
Notably, on June 15 (Father’s Day), Isah wrote: “Dear God, thank you for the gift of fatherhood… May You give [fathers] the strength to be a vessel of Your love.” In another post, he cited Proverbs 28:1: “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
However, police sources allege a stark contrast between his public persona and private conduct. There are also claims that some officers may be working behind the scenes to shield him, as his name had not initially been made public.
The investigation is ongoing, with the FCID handling the case with discretion due to the pastor’s public status.
