Founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Professor Jerry Gana, has indicated that talks are underway to bring back Peter Obi to the party.
Obi, who exited the PDP to contest the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party, may be among those being courted as part of the party’s reconciliation efforts. Responding to questions on whether the PDP has reached out to Obi, Gana replied, “Why not?” adding, “He is not the only person. We are also engaging others, but I won’t mention names until it’s concrete.”
Gana expressed optimism about the current state of the PDP, stating, “The platform is now solid, properly set, and ready to move. I can now confidently approach those who left and show them the difference. I believe many will return.”
His remarks reflect the PDP’s wider strategy to rebuild alliances and strengthen its base ahead of upcoming elections. Further updates are expected as consultations continue.
