Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Mohammad Kazaure, has levelled serious allegations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming the president ignored documented evidence of a staggering N100 trillion corruption scandal allegedly tied to officials in the Buhari administration.

Speaking in a widely circulated interview, Kazaure said he personally handed over the report to President Tinubu prior to his inauguration in 2023. The document, according to him, named key individuals accused of misappropriating the public funds.

“I gave Mr. President all the documents before he was sworn in. I told him this investigation nearly cost me my life. I escaped death twice and had to hide abroad when I should have been campaigning,” Kazaure said. He blamed the fallout from the investigation for his failed re-election bid.

Kazaure alleged that President Tinubu disregarded the report, “threw it into the dustbin,” and has since opted to seek foreign loans instead of using the intelligence to recover stolen funds. He further claimed that some of those allegedly involved in the looting are now serving in the current administration.

“These same people are now holding sensitive positions in government,” he said. “How can we fight corruption like this?”

The explosive claims, made public on August 5, have stirred political tension, with civil society groups and opposition leaders demanding an independent investigation into the matter. While the presidency has yet to respond, the accusations are likely to intensify scrutiny over Tinubu’s anti-corruption credentials.

Kazaure did not provide public evidence to support his claims, and as of now, they remain unverified. However, the gravity of the allegations is expected to keep the issue firmly in public discourse in the coming days.
