On September 19, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM, operatives of the Lagos State Police Command successfully tracked and arrested 28-year-old John Samuel, a native of Akwa Ibom State. Samuel, recently released from prison on August 18, 2025, had shot and seriously wounded businessman Gbenga Obama during a daylight robbery at Gbajobi Street, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, while stealing his gold necklace and other valuables.
