Many Injured As Gas Explosion Hits Lagos
Not less than 15 people have sustained various degrees of injuries following a gas explosion that occurred in Ijora Badia in the Apapa Iganmu Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria.
According to information, the explosion was triggered by a 25kg gas cylinder inside a small shop that contained another five gas cylinders.
It was noted that the shop was located within a bungalow that housed 15 self-contained rooms and 7 more shops.
The occurrence was affirmed by the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, in a statement released on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
She maintained that the cause of the explosion was due to mishandling of gas products, which led to a leak that ignited by a nearby flame.
