Authorities in Mexico have uncovered a chilling scene in Ciudad Juárez, near the U.S. border with El Paso, Texas, where nearly 400 human corpses were discovered inside a suspected illegal crematorium.

According to reports, officials found 383 fully preserved bodies along with six sets of partial remains in a building initially believed to be a private residence. The shocking discovery was made on Thursday, June 29, 2025, after a tip-off led security forces to the location.

An aerial view of the site shows what appears to be a crematorium facility, where bodies had been stored—some reportedly for up to three or four years. Many of the corpses were embalmed but had neither been buried nor properly cremated, raising serious concerns about negligence and possible criminal activity.

The Chihuahua state prosecutor’s office confirmed the find and has launched a full investigation into the operation of the facility. The revelation has sent shockwaves across Mexico and sparked calls for tighter oversight of funeral and cremation services.
