The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has declared that no amount of insults or verbal attacks will ever provoke him into anger or retaliation.

Pastor Adeboye made this known during the July edition of the RCCG Holy Ghost Service, held on Friday, July 5, 2025, at the Redemption City, located in Mowe, Ogun State. Addressing a congregation of thousands, both physically present and joining via livestream, the respected cleric shared personal insights into how he has learned to respond to criticism with spiritual maturity.

“I have heard all kinds of things said about me,” Adeboye stated. “I have been insulted, misunderstood, and misrepresented countless times. But I have made up my mind that no amount of insult will provoke me. I will never retaliate. My focus is on my assignment.”

He urged his followers and believers at large to guard against anger, which he described as “temporary madness” capable of ruining lives, relationships, and spiritual progress.

“Anger is one of the easiest ways the devil traps people. It is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die. A moment of anger can destroy a lifetime of effort and destiny,” he warned.

Pastor Adeboye emphasized the importance of patience, humility, and self-restraint, noting that Jesus Christ Himself faced mockery and insults, yet responded with silence and forgiveness.

The message comes amid increasing online scrutiny of Nigerian religious leaders, where Adeboye has often chosen silence over public rebuttals. Known for his calm demeanor and non-confrontational approach, Adeboye’s leadership style has drawn both admiration and criticism over the years.

The July Holy Ghost Service, themed “From Glory to Glory – Part 7”, drew worshippers from around the world and featured hours of prayers, worship, and testimonies. Pastor Adeboye’s sermon also touched on divine elevation, obedience, and the consequences of spiritual negligence.
