A North Carolina landscaper is facing multiple criminal charges after allegedly throwing a massive party inside a client’s $4.3 million mansion without permission, while the homeowners were out of town.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Michael Brown, owner of Brown’s Dream Team Landscaping, illegally accessed the luxury property in Weddington and organized a party that drew hundreds of attendees. Authorities say Brown charged guests an entry fee, collecting over $3,000 before the event was shut down.

The wild gathering, complete with loud music and heavy street congestion, quickly drew the attention of neighbors, who called police to report the disturbance. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Union County deputies, North Carolina Highway Patrol, and Alcohol Law Enforcement agents, responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found the residence swarming with people, vehicles lining the street, and underage drinking allegedly taking place. Partygoers were seen fleeing as law enforcement began clearing the scene.

Brown initially gave conflicting stories to deputies—first claiming the house was his, then saying it belonged to his grandparents. He later admitted that he was simply the landscaper and had no legal right to host any event at the residence.

Investigators confirmed the homeowners were on vacation and were completely unaware of the party taking place in their home. Some areas of the mansion were reportedly damaged during the event, and authorities are assessing the extent of the property loss.

Brown has been charged with breaking and entering, second-degree trespassing, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obtaining property by false pretenses, and property damage. He was taken into custody and later released on a $10,000 bond.

Deputies seized over $3,000 in cash believed to be from entrance fees collected at the party. The investigation is ongoing, and more charges could follow depending on the outcome of the property damage assessment.

Authorities are reminding homeowners to be cautious when hiring service providers, especially those granted unsupervised access to private properties.
