The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a landlord, Oladele Femi, along with two others, in connection with the kidnapping and gruesome murder of two undergraduates from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA).

The victims, Abah John Friday, 25, and Okah Andrel Eloho, 19, were declared missing before investigations uncovered their tragic deaths.

Speaking during a press briefing in Akure, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Oladipo Abiodun, revealed that Oladele Femi—landlord to one of the deceased—confessed to masterminding the kidnapping and played a role in concealing the murders. Investigations show the students were lured under false pretenses, held hostage, and later killed.

Shockingly, ₦800,000 was withdrawn from Abah John Friday’s bank account during his captivity. CP Abiodun further disclosed that Okah Andrel Eloho was sexually assaulted before she was killed.

The arrests were made following an intensive investigation by the police anti-kidnapping squad. Recovered from the suspects were personal items belonging to the victims and other damning evidence linking them to the crime.

The suspects remain in custody and are expected to be charged with kidnapping, murder, and related crimes upon conclusion of the investigation.

CP Abiodun assured the public that justice will be served and called on residents to remain alert and promptly report any suspicious activity.

The incident has sparked widespread anger among students and locals in Akungba Akoko, with renewed calls for tighter security measures across the state.

In response, the Vice-Chancellor of AAUA, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, expressed profound grief over the loss, describing the victims as intelligent and full of potential. He pledged the university’s cooperation with law enforcement to ensure justice is delivered.
