A Nigeria tertiary institution, Osun State polytechnic, Iree, turns to a war zone on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, as a rival cult group clashed , killed one, and left many injured over girlfriend.
According to information, it was noted that pandemonium broke out on the school campus following a disagreement between two young men over a lady in the school.
The arguments lead to a deadly one following an intervention by supporters of the rival gang, which a student was attacked with a matchet while other students sustained various levels of injuries in an attempt to run for safety.
The sad incident was affirmed by Mr. Fadeji Joseph, the Director of Media and Publicity.
Fadeji confirmed that the crisis was a result of a disagreement over a girl between the rival cult group, which later escalated on the campus, that left many students injured.
He maintained that the injured victims are currently at the hospital receiving medical attention.
However, Mr. Fadeji stated that the situation is now calm, as the school authorities have invited the police anti-cult unit and are currently on campus to restore peace and order.
