Plateau State cleric compiles evidence of mass killings, church burnings, and mass graves to submit before the International Criminal Court and U.S. government

Outspoken Plateau State cleric, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has announced plans to drag the Nigerian government before the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged complicity in what he described as the systematic killing of Christians across northern Nigeria.

Rev. Dachomo, who serves as the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, made this declaration in a post shared on his social media page. He revealed that he has meticulously compiled a comprehensive list of Christians killed by Islamic extremists and Fulani militias, along with records of churches destroyed since 2010, which he intends to submit to both the ICC and the United States government.

The cleric strongly criticized the Nigerian government and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for what he called their “deafening silence” and failure to address the ongoing crisis. According to him, this silence has emboldened the perpetrators to continue their attacks without fear of consequence.

“Their denial and inaction have worsened the situation. The government and even CAN are pretending as though nothing is happening, while Christians are being wiped out,” Rev. Dachomo said.

He accused government officials of deliberately downplaying the crisis, despite overwhelming evidence of mass attacks, coordinated assaults on Christian villages, and targeted church burnings.

To support his international legal campaign, Rev. Dachomo disclosed that concerned Nigerians and international donor organizations have begun contributing funds — both to help families of victims and to sustain his documentation efforts.

“Some concerned Nigerians and international donor agencies are donating to this cause — to assist families of victims and to help me continue this humanitarian work,” he explained.

The cleric lamented the recent mass burial of 17 victims in Heipang district, describing it as part of a continuing pattern of what he calls a Christian genocide.

Rev. Dachomo revealed that his evidence package for the ICC would include survivor testimonies, photographic evidence of mass graves, and documentation of churches and communities destroyed across Plateau, Benue, and other northern states.

“The killings are too coordinated to be dismissed as random violence,” he said. “The world needs to know that this government is lying when it claims there’s no genocide. We will take this matter before the ICC and also sue the Miyetti Allah association for their role in these atrocities.”

He cited the 2010 Dogo Nahawa massacre, where over 500 Christians were killed overnight, as a glaring example of the brutality and scale of the attacks.

“My Own Village Was Attacked for Speaking Out”

Rev. Dachomo also shared personal accounts of tragedy, revealing that his own village has suffered multiple attacks in retaliation for his outspokenness.

“Because of my outcry, my village was attacked several times. Over 50 people have been killed, including my relatives and friends. My best friend’s wife and five children were burned alive,” he recounted.

He accused the government’s denials of genocide of fueling his resolve to bring international attention to the killings.

“I’ll Present the Evidence to the World”

Currently traveling across affected regions, Rev. Dachomo said he is documenting unreported killings and unmarked graves. He recounted a horrifying incident in Jaruwa, where worshippers were burned alive during a church service.

“I am visiting every site where Christians have been attacked. In Jaruwa, terrorists surrounded the church, locked the doors, and set it on fire. No one survived. I will compile all these reports and show the world that genocide is happening in Nigeria,” he vowed.
