A 12-year-old boy, identified as Wasiu, was tragically killed by a stray bullet during a violent clash between rival cult groups in the Mushin area of Lagos State, Nigeria
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 2 July 2025, in the Olosha area of the community. According to eyewitnesses, Wasiu had gone to buy food from a local vendor, popularly known as Iya Ibeji, when gunfire erupted.
Residents reported that the sudden outbreak of gunshots sparked widespread panic, with people fleeing in all directions to avoid being caught in the crossfire.
According to a resident, Tale Amoo, described the scene as chaotic, noting that many were forced to abandon their evening activities amid the violence.
Local authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
