A Nigerian woman has publicly shared her struggles as a single mother of two, calling on the father of her children to take responsibility for their upbringing. The disclosure came via a TikTok video posted on the user account ekaftv, where she recounted her experience and appealed for support.

The woman explained that she had her first child while still in secondary school, at a time when she began noticing warning signs in her partner’s behavior. She said the father initially denied paternity and repeatedly exhibited traits that caused strain in their relationship, including infidelity and lack of commitment.

Despite these red flags, she gave him a second chance in an attempt to avoid raising her second child alone. However, the arrangement reportedly failed, leaving her to manage the upbringing of two children on her own. “I just want him to take responsibility on his children—their schooling, feeding—even if we should divide it 50/50,” she stated.

The woman also reflected on her own upbringing, having been raised by a single father after her mother left. She drew parallels between her past and present circumstances, expressing frustration at feeling trapped in a cycle of hardship.

She further criticized her partner for being lazy and overly dependent on his mother, adding that he had brought another woman into his mother’s household while neglecting his children. She described the challenges of providing for her children without assistance, saying it is difficult to maintain three meals a day and meet other basic needs on her own.

The woman concluded by emphasizing her desire for the father to contribute responsibly to the children’s lives, noting that she is not seeking charity but fairness and shared responsibility.
