Yoruba Association Writes Passport and Immigration Office Mauritius over Alleged illegal Activities of Wanted Nigerian Work Contractor, Fortunate

The Yoruba Association in Mauritius has reported the alleged illegal activity and immigration violations of Nigeria work contractor based in Mauritius, simply identified as Gboyega Paul Ojo, also known as Fortunate.

Following a series of different criminal allegations leveled against Fortunate, who’s a work contractor in Mauritius, a tribe from Nigeria known as Yoruba has written a letter to the Passport and Immigration Office, Port Louis, over his alleged illegal activities and immigration violations.

According to the letter obtained by DAILY OBSERVER, the president of the Yoruba Association in Mauritius, simply identified as Mr. Olalekan Aina raises concern about the illegal re-entry of Fortunate, which poses a threat to the integrity of Mauritius immigration and public safety.

The letter, which was dated 28th of April, 2025, by Aina, outlined the crimes against Fortunate, subjecting foreign workers in Mauritius to hard labor without payment.

The statement read:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Subject: Report of Alleged Illegal Activity and Immigration Violation

I hope this letter finds you well. l am writing to bring to your attention to a serious allegations involving an individual who has reportedly violated immigration laws and exploited vulnerable workers. The individual in question whose name is Gboyega Paul Ojo alias Fortunate, who was alleged to be previously deported from Mauritius and was once wanted by Mauritius police force regarding several scam allegations. It has come to my attention that this person has re-entered the country using a different passport.

” This potentially illegal re-entry raises concerns about the integrity of the immigration system and public safety. Furthermore, this individual has been involved in employing undocumented workers, subjecting them to harsh working conditions. Reports indicate that theseworkers have not been compensated for their labour, with delays extending to several months. Additionally, it has been reported that Gboyega ojo, porpularly called Mr Fortunate has threatened these workers, using intimidation tactics to prevent them from seeking their rightful payments, including threats of deportation. This situation not only exploits the individuals involved but also undermines the values of fair labour practices and legal compliance within our community.

” I believe it is crucial for the immigration authorities to investigate this matter thoroughly to safeguard the rights of the affected individuals and uphold the integrity of the immigration systems.” The statement added.

Recall that Daily Observer had earlier made a series of publications about Gboyega Ojo, also known as Fortunate, for his alleged crimes in Mauritius, but rather to fix his mistakes, the work contractor threatened the publisher for exposing the atrocities.

However, the Yoruba Association in Mauritius set to collaborate with the Mauritius Police Force to fish-out the culprit and face the law.
