Governor says NAF intelligence missions are boosting security operations, confirms state-owned aircraft is ready for deployment
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has commended the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its critical surveillance support in tackling the state’s security challenges.
The governor gave the commendation while receiving a delegation led by the Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdul Suleh, who represented the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, during a courtesy visit.
Makinde noted that the surveillance missions conducted by the Air Force have significantly improved situational awareness, providing valuable intelligence on conditions on the ground and the operational difficulties faced by security personnel.
He also revealed that the surveillance aircraft acquired by the Oyo State Government is currently stationed at the Air Force Base in Lagos, where it is being finalised.
According to the governor, the state is expecting the delivery of the assembled aircraft soon, after which it will be deployed strictly for security operations to strengthen ongoing efforts to curb insecurity.
