Winners Chapel founder says his faith declarations have reportedly led to the release of abducted pastors and family members
Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), has recounted past testimonies involving alleged kidnappings of members connected to his ministry, describing how he responded with bold faith declarations during such incidents.
Speaking during a recent church service, the influential Nigerian cleric said that on one occasion when a pastor was abducted, he instructed that the kidnappers be given his phone number, insisting on urgent release.
According to him, he made it clear that he expected the situation to be resolved quickly, adding that the intensity of his declaration reportedly led to the pastor’s release within a short time.
In another account, Bishop Oyedepo said a family member was also abducted, but the abductors were informed that a specific release time had already been “declared” by faith. He claimed the situation escalated among the captors, resulting in the victim being freed before the stated time.
The cleric used the testimonies to encourage members of his congregation to remain fearless in the face of oppression, stressing that believers should not live under intimidation. He stated that, in his belief, Christians are spiritually empowered to overcome fear and adversity.
His remarks were presented as part of broader teachings aimed at strengthening faith and resilience among worshippers.
