Nonye Soludo calls on Nigerians to honour mothers daily as she marks Mother's Day with a heartfelt tribute
Anambra State First Lady Nonye Soludo has celebrated mothers across the country in honour of Mother's Day, describing motherhood as a "divine responsibility" that should be honoured at all times and whose value cannot be measured in material terms.
In a statement released to commemorate Mothering Sunday, observed globally on March 15, Soludo said no gift, treasure, or expression of love could ever equate to the worth of motherhood, calling it a rare privilege that should never be taken for granted.
"Motherhood is one divine responsibility that has no material quantification. Being a mother is a rare blessing — a gift that should never be taken for granted," she said.
The First Lady, who is also the founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, added that motherhood is God's call to serve a sacred purpose that extends beyond the home — a duty guided by passion and grace.
She urged everyone to celebrate their mothers today and every day, noting that the greatest gifts one can offer a mother are love, presence, and prayers.
