Nollywood actor defends pro-Tinubu Igbos, accuses critics of hypocrisy and targeting their own
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has ignited fresh controversy after launching a scathing attack on critics targeting Igbos who support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a strongly worded statement shared online, Edochie condemned what he described as “selective outrage,” accusing some individuals of turning against their own while avoiding criticism of supporters from other regions of the country.
The actor argued that those calling out pro-Tinubu voices within the Igbo community lack the courage to challenge similar support among Yoruba and Northern groups, as well as political figures and celebrities aligned with the president.
Edochie, clearly angered by the backlash, described such critics as hypocritical and cowardly, insisting that internal attacks weaken unity and distract from broader national political accountability.
His remarks have since triggered mixed reactions on social media, with supporters backing his stance on fairness and critics condemning his choice of words as inflammatory.
