APC Aspirant Buba Withdraws from Sabon Gari Reps Race, Backs Party Unity Ahead of Primaries

Kaduna politician cites reconciliation efforts, pledges loyalty to APC and urges supporters to rally behind consensus candidate

Mahmud Sadis Buba, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, has withdrawn from the race ahead of the party’s primaries.

In a formal letter addressed to the Kaduna State APC Chairman, Buba confirmed his immediate exit, explaining that the decision came after wide-ranging consultations with his family, political allies, and key stakeholders within the party.

He said his withdrawal aligns with ongoing reconciliation efforts within the APC, emphasizing the importance of unity as the party prepares for the general elections. According to him, supporting a consensus candidate is a strategic move necessary to secure victory for the party both in the constituency and across Kaduna State.

Buba expressed gratitude to the Kaduna APC leadership, particularly Governor Uba Sani, for the opportunity to contest, noting that the process had been both insightful and rewarding.

Reaffirming his commitment to the party, he stressed that stepping down should not be interpreted as a sign of weakness but as a deliberate sacrifice aimed at strengthening party cohesion and electoral success.

He also called on his supporters to remain peaceful and fully back the party’s eventual flagbearer.
