NDC candidate Bishop Ezekiel Musa promises infrastructure, education reforms and clean governance for Obi II constituency ahead of 2027 polls
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Obi II State Constituency seat in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Bishop Ezekiel Musa, has launched a scathing attack on the incumbent lawmaker, accusing him of years of ineffective representation that have left the constituency underdeveloped.
Speaking to journalists in Lafia on Tuesday, Musa criticised the two-term tenure of Luka Zhekaba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying residents of Obi II continue to grapple with poor infrastructure and lack of basic services.
The cleric-turned-politician, who leads a ministry with branches in Abuja, Lagos and Rivers states, said his repeated visits to his home community have been marked by disappointment over stagnant development.
“Each time I return home, I am confronted with the same challenges—bad roads, poor schools, lack of potable water and inadequate healthcare. It is deeply troubling,” he said.
Musa contrasted the situation with his exposure to more developed regions within and outside Nigeria, noting that effective leadership can transform communities.
“I have lived in different parts of this country and travelled abroad. I have seen what committed leadership can achieve. Our people deserve much better,” he added.
The NDC flagbearer said his decision to join politics was driven by a sense of duty and spiritual conviction, as well as a desire to expand his humanitarian efforts through governance.
“I prayed about it and felt compelled to step forward. This is about service. I am not coming to loot public funds or mislead the people, but to deliver real development,” Musa stated.
He outlined key priorities for the constituency, including the construction of functional road networks, improved access to clean water, better healthcare facilities, and enhanced educational opportunities.
Highlighting the absence of critical infrastructure, Musa said, “We don’t even have a general hospital. These are basic needs I am determined to address.”
He also pledged to introduce a scholarship scheme to support children from low-income families, ensuring wider access to quality education.
Musa promised to implement a practical development blueprint anchored on transparency, accountability and measurable impact if elected in the 2027 general elections.
