The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced February 20, 2027 as the date for Nigeria’s next presidential election.

INEC disclosed that early preparations have already commenced to guarantee a smooth, transparent, and credible electoral process across the country. The commission said the roadmap will involve close coordination with political parties, security agencies, civil society groups, and other key stakeholders.

Political parties and aspirants are expected to begin strategic planning ahead of the high-stakes poll, while eligible voters have been advised to stay alert for updates on voter registration, Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection, and other critical electoral guidelines.

INEC assured Nigerians that further details and timelines will be communicated in due course as preparations intensify.
