ADC chieftain claims widespread public anger will sink APC, urges opposition unity ahead of 2027 elections

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Buba Galadima, has set off a wave of political controversy after declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stands no chance of winning re-election in 2027 under any scenario.

Speaking at the ADC national convention in Abuja, Galadima made a striking remark, insisting that Tinubu would lose “even if a corpse in a coffin” were placed on the ballot against him.

He attributed his assertion to what he described as deepening public dissatisfaction with the current administration, arguing that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is steadily losing support across the country.

Galadima further alleged that the federal government is attempting to weaken opposition parties, including the PDP, SDP, NNPP, Labour Party, and ADC, urging opposition leaders to close ranks and remain focused ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His comments have since triggered mixed reactions across Nigeria’s political landscape. While some opposition supporters interpret his statement as a reflection of growing anger over economic and governance challenges, critics have condemned it as reckless political hyperbole.

The remark adds fresh heat to Nigeria’s already rising political atmosphere as parties begin early positioning and alliances ahead of the 2027 polls.
