Vice President reaffirms Tinubu administration’s commitment to security reforms, improved welfare, and stronger inter-agency collaboration

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reassured Nigerians that the country will surmount its current security challenges, declaring emphatically that “Nigeria shall prevail.”

Shettima gave the assurance on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2026 National Police Day celebration in Abuja, where he addressed growing public concerns over insecurity across parts of the country.

Acknowledging the scale of the challenges, the Vice President expressed confidence in the ongoing efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to restore peace and stability nationwide. He stressed that the administration remains firmly committed to tackling insecurity through sustained reforms and strategic investments.

According to him, the Federal Government is prioritising the strengthening of security institutions by improving personnel welfare, upgrading operational capacity, and providing the necessary support to enhance effectiveness in the field.

Shettima also paid tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of security personnel, noting that their role remains indispensable in protecting lives, property, and national unity.

Amid rising security concerns, he emphasised the importance of synergy among security agencies and called for increased cooperation from citizens, describing community support as a critical pillar in the fight against insecurity.

The Vice President’s remarks underscore the government’s renewed push to restore confidence and ensure lasting peace across Nigeria.
