Over 600 Nigerian Migrants Return Home After Years Stranded in Niger Republic

National Emergency Management Agency Welcomes Migrants at Kano Airport Following Years of Hardship Abroad

A total of 650 Nigerian migrants have returned home after enduring years of hardship in the neighbouring Niger Republic. The returnees arrived safely at Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, where they were warmly received by officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The migrants, who had been stranded abroad due to various socio-economic and logistical challenges, were assisted in their repatriation through coordinated efforts between Nigerian and Nigerien authorities. NEMA officials provided immediate support, including medical check-ups, temporary relief, and counseling services, to help the returnees reintegrate into their communities.

This repatriation highlights ongoing efforts by the Nigerian government to address the plight of citizens stranded abroad and reinforces the importance of collaboration with neighbouring countries to protect the welfare of Nigerian migrants.

Authorities have urged communities across the country to welcome the returnees and assist in their smooth reintegration, while also warning against irregular migration practices that often place Nigerians in precarious situations abroad.
