The Nigeria Police Force announces leadership changes in its communication unit as ACP Benjamin Hundeyin is replaced and a new media office is created.
The Nigeria Police Force has announced a change in its leadership of the Public Relations Department, replacing Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid has been appointed as the new spokesperson of the Force, taking over the role previously held by Hundeyin.
In a related development, the police authorities also approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Ali Giwa to head the newly established Media Office of the Nigeria Police Force.
The restructuring is part of efforts by the Force leadership to strengthen its communication structure and improve engagement with the public and the media.
Hundeyin, who served as the Force PRO during his tenure as an Assistant Commissioner of Police, played a visible role in communicating police activities, policies and responses to national issues.
The newly appointed spokesperson, DCP Okon Placid, is expected to oversee the Force’s public communication strategy, while CSP Giwa will coordinate activities within the newly created media office.
