Plateau Cleric Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, Who Lost Relatives in Attacks, Visits Israel, Prays for Netanyahu, Tinubu

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo says he is in Israel on his first international Christian advocacy tour, praying for Nigeria, Israel and leaders of both countries.

A Plateau-based cleric, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who has repeatedly raised concerns over attacks on communities in the state, has travelled to Israel on what he described as his first international Christian advocacy tour.

Dachomo disclosed his visit in a Facebook post on Friday, saying he travelled to the Middle Eastern country to pray for Nigeria, its leaders and citizens.

“Today, I am in Israel praying for Nigeria, our leaders, and our people. I believe in miracles, and I believe God can change what looks impossible,” the cleric wrote.

He also said he was joining his faith with that of Nigerians who are seeking divine intervention, praying for healing, restoration, provision and renewed hope.

“Within the next four days, may God open doors, bring healing, provide help, restore hope, and answer your heart’s desires according to His perfect will,” he said.

In a video accompanying the post, Dachomo said his prayers were not limited to Nigeria. He said he also prayed for Israel, its people and its leadership.

The cleric specifically mentioned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, members of his cabinet and the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), asking God to give them what he described as “victory over their enemies.”

Dachomo also prayed for Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and other African leaders.

“Praying for my government, Bola Tinubu. Praying for my governor, Mutfwang in Plateau State, and praying, let God give them victory, Taraba. African nations, South Africa, we are praying for Ghana and the rest of the countries that are in Africa,” he said.

He further described himself as “standing in the gap” for leaders and prayed against what he characterised as Satan’s influence in positions of authority.

“Whatever Satan has planted in the leadership, be uprooted, according to Matthew 15, verse 13,” Dachomo said.

Lost relatives in Plateau attacks

Dachomo's visit to Israel comes against the backdrop of his repeated advocacy over violence in Plateau State.

The cleric has been vocal about attacks on communities in the state and has called for greater attention to the killings and security challenges confronting residents.

According to a report, Dachomo alleged that nine members of his extended family were killed during an attack on communities in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State in July 2026.

He had also alleged that he received threats to his life after speaking publicly about attacks in the state.

His latest trip therefore comes at a time when the cleric is continuing to use his public platform to draw attention to the security situation in Plateau while also engaging in what he described as Christian advocacy beyond Nigeria.

Dachomo did not disclose how long he would remain in Israel or identify the organisations involved in the advocacy tour.

He also did not provide further details about the specific locations he visited in Israel or whether he had held any official meetings with Israeli government representatives.

For now, the cleric says his focus is prayer — for Nigeria, Israel, Africa and the leaders he believes are responsible for steering their countries through difficult times.
