Husband 2Baba accompanies her as Senator Seriake Dickson leads high-profile welcome amid rising wave of defections
The member representing Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Natasha Osawaru-Idibia, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), in a move that further strengthens the party’s expanding national footprint.
Osawaru-Idibia formalised her switch on Thursday, accompanied by her husband, music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia. The couple was received by top NDC figures, including the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, alongside other prominent members.
Her defection marks another significant gain for the NDC, which has continued to attract a wave of high-profile politicians and lawmakers in recent weeks. The party’s growing appeal has been largely driven by the recent alignment of key political heavyweights, including Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Observers say the steady influx of influential figures into the NDC signals a shifting political landscape ahead of future elections, as the party positions itself as a formidable force nationwide.
