Former Ekiti State Governor Recognizes President's Efforts in Addressing Challenges Left by Buhari's Administration
In a surprising show of support, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has praised President Bola Tinubu for navigating the complex economic and governance hurdles inherited from late former President Muhammadu Buhari. During a television interview on Monday night, Fayose, known for his candid remarks, emphasized that while Tinubu may not be perfect, his determination to confront the nation’s pressing issues is commendable.
“Tinubu is not a perfect person, but he has given his best,” Fayose asserted, highlighting the worsened state of affairs that faced the nation upon Buhari’s exit. He elaborated on how the new administration has taken deliberate actions aimed at stabilizing Nigeria amidst ongoing challenges.
Fayose pointed out, “Tinubu handed over the government to himself by taking over from Buhari. As a decent man, he has approached the task of governance seriously and has not abandoned the needs of the northern region.” His commentary reflects an understanding of the critical responsibility Tinubu bears in mending the fractures left by the previous administration.
Additionally, the former governor drew a parallel with former President Goodluck Jonathan, suggesting that similar criticisms regarding insecurity are now being directed at Tinubu’s government, indicating a cyclical nature of political discourse in Nigeria. Fayose’s remarks underscore a cautious optimism as the country strives for recovery under Tinubu's leadership
