Midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and forward Gift Monday return as the Super Falcons prepare for two friendlies against Cameroon ahead of the 2026 WAFCON.
Ahead of the Super Falcons’ upcoming friendlies against Cameroon, head coach Justine Madugu has named a 25-player squad for this month’s matches.
The nine-time Women’s Africa Cup of Nations champions will face the Indomitable Lionesses in a two-match series in Yaoundé on February 28 and March 4.
Midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, who last featured for Nigeria at the 2022 WAFCON, and forward Gift Monday, who missed the 2024 WAFCON held in Morocco, have returned to the squad. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and forwards Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo were also included.
Notably, six-time CAF Women’s Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala did not make the squad.
England-based goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor received her first call-up, while defender Chidinma Okeke returns. Midfielder Precious Christopher has also been handed her maiden invitation. Other defenders in the squad include Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehi, and Ashleigh Plumptre.
These friendlies are part of the Super Falcons’ preparations for the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Morocco from March 17 to April 3.
