Besiktas confirms death of Sunday Ndidi after fatal crash in Delta State

Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi is mourning the death of his father, Sunday Ndidi, who passed away on Tuesday following a road traffic accident.

Reports indicate that the retired military officer was involved in a fatal crash in Umunede, Delta State. He was rushed to a hospital in Agbor for urgent medical attention but was later confirmed dead.

Ndidi’s club, Turkish giants Besiktas, officially announced the sad development in a statement released on Tuesday via their verified X (formerly Twitter) account.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of our footballer Wilfred Ndidi’s esteemed father, Sunday Ndidi, in a fatal traffic accident,” the club stated.
