Institution resumes academic and administrative activities following directive from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The Kwara State College of Education, Oro, located in Irepodun Local Government Area, has reopened for academic and administrative activities following a directive from the state government amid improved security conditions.

The reopening was confirmed through an internal memorandum issued by the management of the institution.

The memo, signed by the Deputy Registrar, Information, Protocol and Publicity, Mrs. Lawal Taibat Saka-Bolanta, with reference number CEO/ADMIN/27/Vol.1/26, was dated February 2, 2026.

Addressed to staff and students, the memorandum—issued from the office of the Registrar—announced that the college had resumed operations with immediate effect.

“In line with the directive of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, I write to inform staff and students of the reopening of the college with immediate effect,” the memo stated.

Recall that schools across the state were previously shut down for several months due to prevailing security concerns.

With the reopening, academic and administrative activities are expected to commence immediately, while the management expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Government, the Ministry of Tertiary Education, and other stakeholders for their support in ensuring a safe return to campus.
