President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the deadly attack on communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where pupils and teachers were abducted, vowing that all efforts are being deployed to rescue the victims.
In a statement issued on Monday, the President said he shares in the grief and anguish of affected families, stressing that no child should ever be taken from the safety of a classroom.
The attack, which occurred in Esiele and Yawota communities, has sparked nationwide outrage and renewed concerns about the safety of schools across the country.
Tinubu also extended condolences to the family of Michael Oyedokun, a teacher killed during the assault, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and restoring security, the President assured that rescue operations are ongoing and being carried out through coordinated, intelligence-driven strategies. He noted that both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches are being deployed to ensure the safe return of those abducted and to prevent future attacks.
