Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has stirred fresh controversy in the entertainment industry after accusing social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), of bias and ulterior motives in his stance on her long-running dispute with music executive Jude Okoye.

In a strongly worded statement, Morgan alleged that VDM’s support for Jude Okoye came after she declined his attempts to build a personal relationship with her, suggesting that his actions were influenced by her refusal to grant him access beyond professional boundaries.

“VDM is just slow and he sided with Jude because I didn’t want to be his friend. Northside Inc doesn’t exist on paper,” she said, questioning the legitimacy of the record label at the center of her past contractual issues.

The singer further claimed that VDM’s interactions with her became increasingly intrusive, describing a pattern of behavior that made her uncomfortable. According to Morgan, the activist initially approached her with offers of collaboration through his foundation but later began asking personal questions unrelated to any professional engagement.

“One minute he wants me to work with him as per his foundation, next minute he is asking me who I have dated in the industry,” she alleged. “Another minute he is calling me at midnight when I am already sleeping.”

Morgan said her decision to set clear boundaries ultimately led to a breakdown in their communication, after which she noticed a shift in VDM’s public position regarding her dispute with Jude Okoye.

“So when I didn’t give him this access, he switched side and I believe he was also paid because if he wasn’t, I would be disappointed,” she added.

The allegations have reignited conversations around Morgan’s long-standing fallout with Jude Okoye, the former manager of the defunct music duo P-Square, whom she has previously accused of contractual exploitation and career setbacks.
