The Ekiti politician apologised to the Nollywood actress during a TikTok Live session as the former couple revisited their controversial 2022 separation and lingering social media disagreements.
Ekiti-based politician and philanthropist, Opeyemi Falegan, has publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday, years after their highly publicised relationship ended in a bitter exchange of accusations and social media drama.
Falegan tendered the apology during a TikTok Live session with the actress on Saturday, November 7, 2026, where the former couple revisited their troubled relationship and addressed issues that had remained unresolved since their separation in 2022.
During the conversation, Nkechi made it clear that she wanted an apology before both parties could genuinely put their differences behind them.
The actress explained that some of Falegan's past comments about her continued to resurface online, with social media users allegedly using them to ridicule and insult her years after their relationship ended.
According to her, the incident demonstrated how comments made on the internet can have lasting consequences, even long after the people involved have moved on.
She said she had previously reminded Falegan that statements he made about her years ago were still being brought up by people online.
Nkechi also recalled how she had defended the politician despite their strained relationship, particularly when social media users accused him of wrongdoing.
She explained that she had intervened in online discussions to clarify that Falegan was not the person allegedly responsible for defrauding some individuals.
While stressing that their past disagreements should not turn them into lifelong enemies, the actress maintained that an apology was necessary before reconciliation could happen.
“There’s no letting go without an apology,” she insisted.
Responding, Falegan acknowledged that people change with time, saying the person he was during their relationship was different from who he had become.
He urged the actress to look beyond their past disagreements, adding that both of them had their individual perspectives about what happened during their relationship.
“A gentleman wouldn’t extend the words of the lady. And another thing you need to understand is this: who I was yesterday is not who I am today,” Falegan said.
He subsequently offered an emotional apology, expressing his desire for Nkechi to let go of the anger surrounding their past.
“From the bottom of my heart to the depth of my soul, do not be angry, Nkechi. That is gone. See that you have grown and more mature,” he said.
The exchange marked a notable moment between the former couple, whose relationship attracted considerable public attention in 2022 when their separation triggered heated social media exchanges and accusations.
Although they had presented themselves publicly as a married couple, reports at the time indicated that their union was not legally formalised.
Their latest conversation has brought renewed attention to their past relationship, with Falegan's apology suggesting that both parties are willing to address some of the disagreements that followed their highly publicised breakup.
