FIFA has unveiled the official Fan-Voted Dream XI for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, spotlighting the tournament’s standout performers as chosen by supporters worldwide—but the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo has quickly become the dominant talking point.

Despite making history as the first player to score in six different World Cups, the Portugal captain was left out of the final lineup, triggering widespread debate among fans and pundits.

The selected XI features Cape Verde’s Vozinha in goal, with a defensive line of Spain’s Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella, alongside France’s Dayot Upamecano and Argentina’s Lisandro Martínez. In midfield, Spain’s Rodri is joined by England’s Jude Bellingham and France’s Michael Olise, while the attacking trio comprises Argentina’s Lionel Messi, France’s Kylian Mbappé, and Norway’s Erling Haaland.
