Nigerian Mother of Three Dies at 40 After Breast Cancer Battle in UK

Omotayo Abioye remembered as vibrant, devoted mother as community mourns her passing and legacy

Omotayo Abioye, a 40-year-old Nigerian mother of three, has died in the United Kingdom after a prolonged battle with breast cancer.

Her family announced that she passed away on Sunday, April 5, bringing to an end what loved ones described as a courageous fight against the illness.

Abioye is survived by her husband and three children, aged 11, nine, and seven—whom friends say were the centre of her life and greatest source of pride.

Tributes have poured in from members of the Nigerian community in the UK, including a former community president, who described her death as a devastating loss. He noted that she leaves behind “three beautiful children” and a legacy defined by love, strength, and resilience.

Remembered for her warmth and lively personality, Abioye was widely regarded as kind, generous, and full of life. Friends and family say her radiant spirit and compassion touched everyone she encountered.

Her passing has left a deep void among loved ones and within the wider community, who continue to celebrate her life and enduring impact.
