The men of the Nigerian police, Enugu State Police Command has arrested three male suspects and recovered firearms, ammunition, and hard drugs during separate security operations across the state.

The arrests were confirmed in a statement issued in Enugu by the command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe.

According to Ndukwe, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended Emmanuel Mba (31) and Nnam Onukwube (35) in the Awkunanaw axis of Enugu South Local Government Area.

He said the suspects confessed to being members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, a banned cult group. Mba was identified as the leader and executioner of the group operating in Enugu South LGA as of December 2025.

Items recovered from the suspects include one pump-action gun, one locally fabricated Beretta-type pistol, 31 live cartridges, a large quantity of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa, one HP laptop, and one motorcycle.

In a related development, Ndukwe disclosed that police operatives on January 31 raided criminal hideouts in the Agbani axis of the state, leading to further arrests.

“After screening, one suspect, Monday Ezeani (32), was found in possession of a dried substance suspected to be cannabis sativa and 39 pellets of suspected crystal methamphetamine (popularly known as ‘Mkpuru-mmiri’),” he said.

He added that the remaining suspects arrested during the raid were released after preliminary investigations.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Giwa, reassured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.

He warned individuals involved in armed robbery, cultism, and illicit drug activities to desist or face the full weight of the law.
