Super Eagles striker emerges as key option for Mourinho’s reported Bernabéu project amid growing interest from Europe’s elite clubs.
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has once again been thrust into the transfer spotlight, with fresh reports linking him to a potential blockbuster move to Real Madrid.
According to Turkish football commentator Ertem Şener, Portuguese manager José Mourinho is keen on bringing the Nigerian forward to the Santiago Bernabéu as part of a new project he is reportedly planning at the Spanish giants. Osimhen is said to be among Mourinho’s top attacking targets due to his physical presence and high-intensity style of play.
Galatasaray, however, are believed to be holding firm on a hefty €150 million valuation for the striker—a figure that could make the deal one of the most expensive transfers in football history if completed. Such a move would also see Osimhen become the first Super Eagles player to feature for Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign with Galatasaray, playing a decisive role in their Turkish Super Lig title triumph. He scored 15 goals and registered five assists in just 22 league appearances, while also impressing in the UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with several top European clubs—including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain—reportedly monitoring his situation.
Renowned for his pace, strength, aerial dominance, and relentless pressing, Osimhen fits the profile of a striker Mourinho has historically favored. While no official approach has been confirmed, the speculation continues to generate excitement among fans, particularly in Nigeria, where many are eager to see the forward take another major step in his career.
