Bundesliga champions monitoring Galatasaray striker as long-term successor to Harry Kane amid contract talks and growing transfer speculation.
German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are reportedly considering Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as a potential replacement for Harry Kane, with head coach Vincent Kompany said to be a strong admirer of the Nigerian forward.
Kompany has identified Osimhen as a fitting long-term successor to Kane, as Bayern continue negotiations to extend the England captain’s contract amid reported interest from Barcelona and several Premier League clubs.
Although Kane is only in his third season at the Allianz Arena, he has already cemented his place among the club’s elite strikers, scoring an astonishing 130 goals in 133 competitive appearances.
Despite Kane’s remarkable output, Bayern’s hierarchy is said to be planning ahead, mindful of the 32-year-old’s advancing age and the need to prepare for the future.
Osimhen has emerged as a leading candidate following his impressive performances in Turkey. During his first season on loan at Galatasaray, he netted 37 goals in 41 matches across all competitions. Now in his second campaign with the “Cimbom,” the Nigerian international has already registered 10 Süper Lig goals and seven goals in eight UEFA Champions League appearances.
One of those goals proved decisive, sealing Galatasaray’s qualification for the Champions League Round of 16.
The striker completed a Turkish record €75 million permanent move last summer after a successful loan spell and is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2029.
Reports indicate that Kompany greatly admires the former Lille forward, who first made his mark in European football with Belgian side Charleroi. However, no formal offer has been tabled by Bayern at this stage.
Osimhen continues to attract interest from top European clubs, but his reported wage demands and Galatasaray’s valuation — believed to be around €150 million — could pose significant obstacles to any potential transfer.
