The 16-year-old Thai rock sensation will share the stage with the American metal giants after rising from Phuket night markets to global fame and winning America’s Got Talent.

Thai teenage rock sensation Nene Royal is set to open for American metal giants Avenged Sevenfold in Singapore, adding another major milestone to her remarkable rise from performing at Phuket’s night markets to winning America’s Got Talent and its $1 million prize.

Nene will join Avenged Sevenfold as a special guest at the band’s Singapore concert on October 13, according to an announcement by the concert promoter and the teenage guitarist.

The performance will be another significant moment for Nene, 16, who has previously cited Avenged Sevenfold among the bands that inspired her musical journey.

Her international breakthrough came during the 21st season of America’s Got Talent, where she stunned judges and audiences with a powerful rendition of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.”

The performance showcased her distinctive combination of powerful vocals, headbanging and energetic guitar playing. It quickly went viral, with the original video on TikTok surpassing 165 million views.

Nene received a Golden Buzzer from judge Mel B, sending her directly through to the live shows. She later performed alongside Mexican rock trio The Warning.

For the grand finale, Nene shared the stage with Linkin Park and delivered a performance of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” before host Terry Crews announced her as the winner of the competition.

Her victory triggered widespread celebrations in Thailand, where the teenager has become a national sensation.

Nene began teaching herself to play the guitar at the age of seven. Before achieving international recognition, she regularly performed at Phuket’s Naka Weekend Market, building her skills and attracting an increasingly wider audience.

Her journey to the United States also received support from Thai rock star Aed Carabao, who pledged 1 million baht to help cover her travel expenses.

The teenager’s America’s Got Talent victory was subsequently celebrated by Thailand’s government and major companies, further raising her profile at home and internationally.

Nene is now working on her debut EP as she pursues her ambition of creating original music and touring internationally.

Following her America’s Got Talent victory, she said one of her dreams was to perform alongside the bands that had inspired her, including Avenged Sevenfold and Metallica.

With her upcoming Singapore performance, Nene is now taking another step toward turning that ambition into reality.
