After nearly a decade since Anti, the global superstar is reportedly recording new music, reigniting hopes for her long-awaited ninth album.
After nearly a decade without a studio album, global music icon Rihanna may be gearing up for a long-awaited return, with her partner, A$AP Rocky, confirming that the singer is back in the recording studio.
Speaking on a podcast, A$AP Rocky revealed that Rihanna is actively working on new material. “She’s in the studio right now… cooking,” he said, hinting at fresh music in the works.
He, however, dismissed speculation that the couple might be working on a joint album, joking that he could get into trouble for sharing the update.
Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, has not released a full-length album since her critically acclaimed 2016 project, Anti. While she has dropped a handful of singles over the years, including “Lift Me Up” for the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, fans have continued to wait eagerly for a new body of work.
The Grammy-winning singer previously told Harper’s Bazaar that she had finally found the right direction for her next album but stressed that she would not release anything below her standards. She noted that fans who had already waited years could “wait some more” rather than receive a mediocre project.
Beyond music, Rihanna has built a billion-dollar business empire through Fenty Beauty and her lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty, while raising three children with A$AP Rocky.
According to Forbes, her net worth exceeds $1 billion, making her one of the wealthiest entertainers in the world.
Although Rocky declined to comment on speculation about their marital status, his latest remarks have reignited expectations that Rihanna’s long-awaited ninth studio album could finally be on the horizon after years of anticipation.
