
Police confirm the attack on Gare Village in Madagali LGA as security agencies launch a joint search-and-rescue operation to free the abducted victims.
Suspected terrorists have attacked Gare Village in Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, abducting six family members.
Madagali is the hometown of the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The incident was confirmed by the Adamawa State Police Command.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the spokesman for the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said security operatives had launched a joint search-and-rescue operation aimed at securing the release of the abducted victims.
“The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed an attack on Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area, by suspected terrorists, which led to the abduction of six family members and the rustling of livestock,” the statement said.
Nguroje added that the command had deployed additional personnel and operational assets to the area in collaboration with other security agencies.
According to him, upon receiving the report, the command intensified collaboration and deployed additional personnel and assets in a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, troops of the 144 Battalion, and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force to the affected area and surrounding communities.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Dankombo Morris, has ordered sustained operations to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and to prevent further attacks.
