Operation FANSAN YAMMA records success in Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji as soldiers overpower gunmen without casualties
Troops of Sector 2 under the Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA have killed three terrorists and recovered arms and ammunition during a fighting patrol in Zamfara State.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.
According to the statement, the operation was carried out on May 7 in Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas as part of ongoing efforts to restrict the movement of terrorists within the state.
The troops reportedly encountered armed terrorists at Doumbourum Village, where a fierce firefight ensued. The soldiers overpowered the attackers with superior firepower, forcing them to flee after suffering casualties.
Following the operation, troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one machine gun, one locally fabricated handgun, seven rifle magazines, and a total of 571 rounds of ammunition.
The task force confirmed that no casualties were recorded among the troops during the operation.
It added that the mission forms part of sustained efforts to combat terrorism and criminal activities in the North-West, noting that the success reflects the troops’ commitment, resilience, and professionalism.
